one woman curled up on the sofa in the living room, with a blanket and a cup of coffee. another creating a vision board in the library. a third walking the path in the secret garden, exclaiming over the dates on the antique pottery. brightly colored pillows on the portico, filmy sheers on the windows, italian lace on the furniture, edible flowers on the plates. laughter and tears, journaling and hugs.
once again, three months ago, i watched these scenes that i’d imagined for so long play out right in front of my eyes, at THE ARRIVAL retreat in my home.
so much goodness . . .
- 11 hours of group coaching sessions (life-changing deep dives)
- individualized 1:1 sessions with each woman (soul-searching moments)
- my husband’s continental breakfast buffets (he’s an electrical engineer, but now he’s being told he should open a b&b)
- collaboration with my italian friends, including a pasta-making lesson and reflexology treatments and gourmet meals and a tour of a 17th-century casale (now a beautiful b&b/restaurant)
- taking the train to cinque terre (for a relaxing no-plan day by the sea)
- gelato! wine!
- a walk through my village, with a mandatory stop at the neighborhood bottega (which has been in the same family since 1897)
- a guided tour at a 12-century malaspina castle (with a mysterious legend attached to it)
oh my. i could just go on and on and on. it’s all been so amazing. women i’ve just met, who actually live in my home for a week and become family. it creates an entirely different dynamic and feel for my guests, because it’s like real life in italy (not just a holiday).
even the way i reveal and communicate the retreat specifics beforehand is so much more personal and intimate than any other marketing i’ve ever done. i am learning so much from this process, from this unique business model i’m creating. and from each of these women.
and i am loving every minute of it. dreams do come true.
