what can i even say?
although i didn’t find the time to jot down all of the daily details,
last month was overflowing with a mixture of wonder, light, and love.
oh my goodness, what goodness!
i wrote these still-true words last year, on june 1, 2016:
life is always surprising us, with that unusual mixture of heartache and joy.
we need to pause, to notice and celebrate the joyful moments.
they are the reason we keep surviving, we keep striving.
they are the reason our lives carry richness and meaning.
i’d like to share MY JUNE GOODNESS today, last month’s joyful moments:
- good conversations with my dad
- finding a wall sconce, a chandelier, and a table-with-chairs at our local saturday market
- exciting news from both sons
- eric’s finished marble floor, in a herringbone pattern
- the courtyard cleanup, and flowers
- my newly labeled recycling bins
- building 3 clothes racks myself
- oriental rugs, that had been in storage for years, looking perfect in the villa
- first dress-up dinner party, during a summer thunderstorm for dramatic emphasis
- cinque terre, on the italian riviera, just a short train ride away
- all the design ideas seamlessly falling into place right at the last moment
- walking through the villa, silent and vast, after all of the hard work
- overcome with emotion viewing the transformation, my dream realized
- finally, a real home to live in
- two best friends traveling to italy to spend 3 weeks with me
- awesome retreat participants (they even brought me gifts!)
- an AMAZING retreat experience
