keep courageous

i finally recognize its calling card.
shallower breaths,
faster heartbeats.
whirling mind,
inability to focus.

FEAR is paying a visit.

so many changes.
hormonal.
relational.
geographical.

can i keep up?
can i keep going?
can i keep courageous?

sometimes my fear is a normal reaction.
a son’s surgery.
a suspicious mole.
a parent’s decline.

sometimes my fear is of the unknown.
a bold business leap.
a move to a foreign land.
a transition into the next stage of life.

i won’t let fear get the best of me.
won’t let it drag me down.
won’t let it take away my joys.

i will remember what i’ve experienced.
remember what i’ve endured.
most of all i will remember what i’ve attained.

i will approach fear with respectful awe.
approach it with sensitivity.
absolutely i will approach it with a lion’s roar.

i will keep courageous.

Honestly, I am always so amazed at how precisely things are communicated on this blog.

Very complex topics broken down so eloquently and even when the challenge is and feels so great . . . so hard . . . – the solutions are so simply arranged.

It’s just inspiring. Always. Thanks so much to essence7wellness.

So good, April! This could be a mantra for everybody. You articulated fear so well! I love how you speak of respecting it, but not letting it take over! Wonderful!!

This is beautiful. Fear is something that is a part of life, but if we listen closer it is usually an indication of something. I have found that fear is usually when we are focused on the future, based in uncertainty. We don’t have to let it control our actions or paralyze us.

We really need courage every single day, don’t we? It’s not just about the big leaps of faith or the stuff that comes up. Any little change we make takes the courage to face, step into, integrate. It’s how we stay alive. Otherwise it’s all inertia.

You have such an exquisite way of painting the pictures to express your thoughts…xo
